Today I have a color that, admittedly, is not very Winter-y. Oh well! I sometimes like wearing brights in the Winter when everything else is dark or gray.

It's Barielle- Blossom, a very pretty pink-leaning coral creme. It is very similar to another polish I own- we'll be talking about that in a bit!
Barielle is a brand that's been on my radar for a little while, but I only owned 3 or 4 until they recently appeared on Hautelook.com one fine day, and I couldn't resist! (Now I have , so don't be surprised if you see a few more on Polish Hound in the near future!)
I don't know where you buy these in real life other than online; in fact, for a while I assumed Barielle was a UK-based brand. (Don't laugh at me!)
Anyway, back to Blossom, which was originally released as part of the Spring 2010 Wildflower collection.
Artificial light, three coats:

It's a really, really nice color, and I think would flatter many skin tones. I got a lot of compliments on this one, even though it's a simple creme finish.
Window-filtered daylight:

Outside, shade:

Blossom is, to me, a perfectly balanced coral: pink-leaning, but with definite orange-y/ peach undertones! This could, quite possibly, be my perfect coral creme polish- or, as they say: HG (Holy Grail). It's that good.

Sun:

It looks much more peachy-orange in direct sunlight.
Formula: Surprisingly workable for this type of color! It does require at least three coats for some semblance of opacity, but I didn't mind. It goes on pretty effortlessly and self-levels better than I thought it would. There is still VNL after three coats but you cannot see it in every type of lighting- so, very acceptable.
It also wore very well; I had no chips and miniscule tip-wear after about three days.
Comparison Time!
So, of course, Blossom reminded me strongly of another coral favorite of mine, Butter London- Trout Pout, which was the first polish I ever swatched for you on Polish Hound!

Barielle- Blossom, Butter London- Trout Pout
Artificial light:

They are very much not-dupes, although they're very similar. The pictures are less telling than in real life, but Blossom is actually less pink than Trout Pout- something I sort of like, actually.
Window-filtered natural light:

Can you see that Blossom looks more peachy-coral next to Trout Pout? I don't know why I couldn't get the camera to adequately capture the differences. Hmph.
Well, that's it! Maybe the next swatch will be more Winter-y!
It's like the perfect color! love it!
ReplyYea, who knew? I hope other Barielles are this good. :)
Nice colour, i think its better than London. .)
ReplyI do too! The formula is for-sure better.
What a pretty color! It's perfect for spring time! :-)
