Hey everyone, happy Friday! Another edition of Nailstalgia is here!
February went so quickly for me, that I almost didn't have this one ready in time! But, I've been looking for an excuse to wear this pretty green, so today I've got China Glaze- Wagon Trail for you to look at!
Wagon Trail was originally released in the Fall 2008 Rodeo Diva collection, and it's actually the only shade I have from that collection.

Wagon Trail is a dark, muddy brownish green base filled with dense bronze and green shimmer. The shimmer is so dense, it's actually a little hard to tell what the base color is! Overall, the color is a kind of deep olive. Sometimes I can see a quick flash of red shimmer too, but I'm not sure if I'm imagining it.
Artificial light, two coats:

I used a skinny chevron from to get the negative space on the index nail. Because of the texture of this polish, it actually ran into the chevron after I removed the decal, so I had to go in and try to clean everything up with acetone and a brush.
Outside, shade:

Sun:

I was lucky enough to have little bursts of sun on the day I swatched this, and I think it looks incredible!
Up close:

Formula: It's definitely much thinner than I prefer, and you have to be careful not to let it run away into the cuticle. But, it's forgiving, and you have a lot of play time before it sets- and it's pretty pigmented. Opaque in two coats!
What do you think?
Have you tried Wagon Trail?
That brush shot!! *dies*
ReplyUgh, Wagon Trail is such an amazing color. I'm biased though. I love pretty much any olive green out there. And I agree, that brush shot. *Swoon*
ReplyIts nice! I like that simple negative space accent nail too.
ReplyThis is one of my all time favorite China Glazes! I have that whole collection, it's amazing!
ReplyThe shimmer in this is gorgeous.
ReplyThaaaank you! <3 I was happy with the highlight on that one!
ReplyI agree! :D
ReplyI love olive green so much too and it doesn't even look that great on me, haha! Thank you!
ReplyIt's becoming my favorite no-brainer way to do an accent, thank you!
ReplyI wasn't able to track it down until recently, but I really love it! Such a good finish!
