Hi guys! I really cannot believe it's Monday already! wah! Today I've got some exciting swatches for you. These are six of twelve new ILNP Spring 2015 collection shades! Are you as excited as I am?!
First, probably one of the most exciting shades for many, ILNP- Poetry

Poetry is a saturated red-violet purple with loose linear holographic shimmer as well as magenta shimmer particles.
Artificial light, two coats:

This does photograph as a way cooler-toned purple than it is, so these have been color-corrected to reflect the real hue! This is truly a really gorgeous, saturated color, though- especially if you love purples on your nails!
Outside, shade:

^There's a pretty good look at the magenta shimmer when the holo particles aren't lighting up!
Formula: Seriously fantastic! Not too thick or thin; applies buttery and almost effortlessly, and to be honest I had this almost opaque in one coat. It was just a little thinner at the nail tips, so I used two coats for swatches.

Next, ILNP- Flower Girl

Flower Girl is a light, warm rosy pink with linear holographic shimmer as well as gold glassfleck shimmer particles.
Artificial light, two coats:

The holographic effect in this one is very strong! Unfortunately, I didn't get sun for a few of these swatches, so some shots that will showcase the holographic properties had to be taken indoors with a strobe. That's not nearly as good as natural sunlight, but I hope you'll still get the idea!
Outside, shade:

Formula: It's a little sheerer than Poetry, but applies smoothly and easily. It dries down quickly, and builds well! This was opaque enough for me in two coats!
--
Here is ILNP- Timeless Vow:

Timeless Vow is a greyed-out sage green filled with holographic shimmer as well as the same gold glassfleck shimmer that Flower Girl has.
Artificial light, two coats:

The gold shimmer particles in this contrast in a really cool and obvious way!
Outside, shade:

Formula: It's, overall, very similar to Flower Girl. Applies easily, and is opaque in two coats!
By the way, I would recommend top coat with these shades that have the gold shimmer. It helps to bring out the shimmer and smooth the finish slightly- although, they're not rough by any means. To my eye, it doesn't dull the holo effect- so it's really worth it! (All of my swatches have a coat of Sally Hansen- Dries Instantly on top.)
--
Next, ILNP- Peri Me

Peri Me is a cornflower blue (or blue-leaning periwinkle) with holographic shimmer as well as small, gold-orange fleck shimmer. It seems to be slightly different/ smaller than the glassfleck shimmer in Timeless Vow and Flower Girl.
Artificial light, two coats:

Outside, shade:

I don't think that the gold shimmer particles are quite as pronounced in this one.
Formula: It's very similar to Timeless Vow and Flower Girl- if maybe slightly more pigmented. Opaque in two easy coats! Again, these self-level so instantly- it's kind of amazing, and I find them very forgiving. I only did cuticle cleanup on one or two nails out of all of these swatches, and you may not be able to tell which ones: that's how easy they are to control!

Here are one of two microglitter holos, ILNP- Happily Ever After:

Happily Ever After is a pastel, warm-toned lavender holographic polish with silver flake microglitter particles scattered throughout. To me, it can look like more of a pink on the nail, and these photos have all been color-corrected since warm purples never photograph true.
Artificial light, two coats:

Outside, shade:

Look at those flakes! This polish, after being swatched, easily became one of my surprise favorites!
Sun:

Up close:

Formula: It's more pigmented and opaque than I was expecting. It depends how heavy your hand is, and I personally do tend toward thicker coats, but this covered perfectly for me in two coats. It applies smoothly, and is totally easy to work with! The flake particles lay flat, so it's a really smooth finish despite the density of particles!
I'll also add that the two microglitter flake polishes were not too difficult to remove either!
--
ILNP- Fame

Fame is a champagne, white gold holograph polish with similar flake particles as Happily Ever After- except there are, to my eye, silver and gold-ish flakes. The overall tone of this champagne color is very warm-leaning and does have a slight yellow tone.
It could be that there is only one color of flakes and they're shifting, but take a look at the macro at the bottom and tell me what you think! I looked at the up-close photos and at the polish with a magnifying glass (lol!), and I couldn't really decide. (It's honestly beautiful either way!)
Artificial light, two coats:

Outside, shade:

Um, it's blindingly reflective, even in shade- very cool!
Sun:

I think a lot of people will love this one too! I've never seen anything quite like it before!
Up close:

Formula: It's very, very similar to Happily Ever After. Opaque in two easy coats!
I should mention that in these two shades, much of the coverage is coming from the actual flake particles themselves, and they are pretty dense in the base! That said, it still applies so smoothly and clump free! The finish feels pretty smooth too, but I'd recommend top coat just to bring out the shine- and you don't need a thick one (ie: Gelous), just whatever you'd normally use!
--
Overall, I love all of these! The two microglitter/ holographic combos are pretty special, and I think the shimmer in the others really complements the holographic finish without being too busy. All of them are certainly very wearable for me, and the formulas on all were pretty much flawless- so much so that there's not a lot to say on that front. (I don't think I say that too often!) My favorites are Timeless Vow and Happily Ever After!
Swatches of the other six polishes in this collection will be up
These will be available for pre-order this Friday, the 6th, on ILNP.com
What do you think?
Which of these intrigues you the most?
*Disclosure: polishes in this post were provided to me as press samples for honest review, and all opinions are my own.
Ummm....I need all of these except for peri me flower girl and fame. LOVE poetry and happily ever after so much!!! Thank you so much for sharing! XOXOXO
ReplyYour pictures are just amazing! Thanks for showcasing all the detail on these polishes.
ReplyThese look amazing particularly those last two polishes. Wow!
ReplyHappily Ever After is definitely my favorite. What awesome swatches!
ReplyOMG!!! This collection is going to kill me. I actually want every single one, and that NEVER happens for me. ILNP is my husband's arch-nemesis.
ReplyWow, these are amazing. Definitely need Peri Me and Timeless Vow and am very interested in a comparison of Fame and Indigo Bananas Bridal Veil.
ReplyStunning swatches. :) Loving Poetry and Happily Ever After. ❤
ReplyWhat beautiful pics!! I am such a huge ILNP fan - this collection is gonna bankrupt me for sure!
ReplyQuestion: How does Peri Me compare to KBShimmer's Blue-d Lines? Do I need both? (Silly question, of course I need both)
ReplyUm girl, you *might* need fame! So pretty! :enables: :)
ReplyThank you so much!
ReplyI agree! I love those two more than I thought I would!
ReplyI love that one! Thank you! :D
ReplyHaha! Oh no- your poor husband!
ReplyThanks!! I can't wait to wear Happily Ever After for more than swatching...
ReplyHmmm, I don't have Bridal Veil (what is wrong with me?!), but it looks like the silver flakes in Fame might be slightly bigger, and also there are gold flakes. Those two definitely need a comparison though!
ReplyThaaaank you! :D The hallmark of an excellent collection!!
ReplyGood question! I don't have that KBShimmer, but from photos it looks like Blue-d lines has less purple in it and is more of a straight light blue, and not periwinkle like Peri Me. So yes, you need both! :Muahahaha!:
ReplyAmei seu post. Swatche nas unhas seria de arrasar!
ReplyBeijos!!!!
