Essie- Maximillian Strasse Her [Swatch] & [Comparison]

Essie- Maximillian Strasse Her is from the new Spring 2013 collection, called Madison Ave-Hue.  All of the shades are based on famous shopping streets/ districts from around the world, as I understand it. Maximillian Strasse Her is a reference to Munich, Germany's Maximilianstraße, one of the city's four royal avenues, apparently.

This is my only pick from the collection.  I wasn't impressed with it online actually, but then I saw it in person at the drugstore, and knew it was pretty special.

Maximillian Strasse Her is a pale, muted sage green creme.  There are definite gray undertones, and it could be worn as an edgy neutral.

Artificial light, two coats:

You guys probably know by now that I love my cremes, and this one is no exception.  And, as a bonus, there is just enough blue in it to prevent the dreaded lobster-hands effect.  Score!

Window-filtered daylight:

I know it looks sort of turquoise here, but it isn't.  It looks very cool in some lighting, but it's a trick; this polish is a bit of a chameleon.

Outside, shade:

Sun:

I think this one shows up truest-to-color in the sun, as above.

Formula: Very, very nice! It's thicker than I'm used to from Essie, and very pigmented. A lot of people might find this to be a one-coater, but I wore two for swatches.  The first coat goes on slightly streaky but it self-levels magically to a perfectly smooth surface.  Second coat is the same way.

I was also expecting bubbling with a formula this thick, but that didn't happen either!

Comparison Time!

Let's get an easy one out of the way first:

Essie- Maximillian Strasse Her, Essie- Absolutely Shore

Here they are side by side, in case you have any remaining doubt, (artificial light):

Absolutely shore is much, much paler and more minty.

And, here are a bunch of others I took a look at:

Left to Right:
OPI- Mermaid's Tears, Butter London- Two Fingered Salute, Essie- Maximillian Strasse Her, LVX- Avireo, Essie- Sew Psyched

In the same order below:

Here's a closer look at Maximillian Strasse Her next to Sew Psyched:

Not really even close.

I hope this comparison helps someone!  I almost passed on this polish because I figured I would have a dupe for it, but not so!  And, it's lovely!

What's your favorite greyed-out green?

this somehow reminded me of Thanks a Windmillion, but it seems to be softer than that.

I don't have that, but I think MSH would be quite a bit lighter, yea. :)

Thank you! I know most people prefer seeing them on real fingers, but none of these were really too close.
