Today, I'm excited to show you Cygnus Loop, one of the most popular and recently talked about polishes from indie brand I Love Nail Polish.
Cygnus Loop is a warm purple-indigo-deep blue multichrome that is strongly gold-orange-crimson at sharp, oblique angles.
Artificial light, two coats:
Very shifty! Pretty!
Window-filtered daylight:
The color shift in this is endlessly entertaining, and is as pronounced as the shift in Birefringence, if not more so.
Outside, shade:
Sun:
Formula: It's very similar to Birefringence; it's on the medium-thin side, and the first coat is a bit streaky. Second coat is opaque, but you have to pay special attention when wrapping the nail tips, since this is a thinner formula. Painting in straighter lines will minimize brushstrokes, but like Birefringence, they weren't too noticeable when it dried down. Did also chip quickly.

Of course Cygnus Loop needs comparison to I Love Nail Polish- Birefringence, since they're both multichromes that look super similar in the bottle.
In all of these photos, Cygnus Loop is on the left, and Birefringence is on the right. Artificial light:
You can see that Cygnus Loop is much more strongly blue-indigo, while Birefringence's main color is mostly aqua-teal.
At a different angle, you can see that Cygnus Loop is all around warmer than Birefringence:

So, yea they're very similar, but not the same (as the meme says)! My favorite? It's really hard to say, actually...but maybe Birefringence by a hair?

Ooooh, pretty! I really want its counterpart from Dance Legend, but they got sold out so quickly from my local supply...fingers crossed for the restock!
