Today, I have two of the polishes from Cirque's lovely Fall 2013 Alchemy collection to show you.
First, here is Cirque- Arcane Fire:

Arcane Fire is a brownish, crimson base with bronzey-gold flakie shimmer and, in the bottle, what seems to be holographic particles.
Artificial light, two coats:

Window-filtered daylight:

Outside, shade:

So the particles in this do seem to be a bit duochromey as opposed to holographic- although I had absolutely no sun in the day I wore this with which to really test that out.

Formula: It's on the thicker side, but not too thick. Goes on very smoothly, and the first coat is nearly opaque. I used two coats to be sure. Seriously good formula. If all commercial polishes had this formula, I'd never complain!

Next, Cirque- Magnum Opus:

Magnum Opus is a taupe-y, steely grey holographic finish with a healthy tinge of lavender.
Artificial light, two coats:

Window-filtered daylight:

The holographic effect is visible indoors!
Outside, shade:

Sun!

This is a pretty vibrant holo!
Formula: It's on the medium-thin side, consistency-wise, and is also a bit viscous in a way. Not necessarily a bad way: it just clings to itself a little bit? Application is very, very nice for a holographic, and I had no issues with pulling or cuticle drag! Also, it's opaque in two coats- can't complain!

Overall, I am really happy with these two, with my favorite being Arcane Fire. They both have great formulas to boot. Not much else to say!
I've always wanted to try Cirque polishes. What beautiful photos. You know how to sell 'em!
ReplyYou should! They are one of my favorite indies, for sure!
