Zoya Bubbly Collection [Swatch] & [Review]

Today I have Zoya's Summer 2014 Bubbly collection to share! These polishes all feature "the exclusive liquid-metal holographic jelly formula." They are basically jelly bases filled with color-coordinated holographic glitters, as well as various shimmer.

Since these are billed as jellies, I thought I'd show each at two coats.  So, you may see some nail line, but I think that is half the fun of squishy colors like these, and I have been digging the subtly-sheer look lately!

One other thing: I think this is the first time I'm showing an entire collection at once, in one post, instead of broken down into two parts.  Please let me know which you prefer! (Photos should theoretically be optimized for good page-loading, but since I take so many photos of each polish, I know these massive posts are image-heavy. )

Let's get to it!

First, here is Zoya- Alma:

Alma is a light, golden orange "perfectly balanced between yellow and orange."

Artificial light, two coats:

Window-filtered daylight:

I was initially very wary of Alma, since yellows tend to look awful on me, but I don't think it's very unflattering at all. A nice surprise!

Outside, shade:

Formula: It's on the thicker side, but is syrupy like a jelly, and spreads easily despite the glitter. I used two coats, although three would probably eliminate obvious nail line.

One coat of INM- Out The Door was sufficient to get this completely smooth, and that was the case for all of the Bubbly polishes.
--

Next, Zoya- Jesy:

Jesy is a fiery coral-orange with golden undertones. There is a lot of pink in the base jelly color.

Artificial light, two coats:

Artificial light, 5500k daylight CFL bulb:

Outside, shade:

Formula: It is very similar to Alma in every way.  I'm just amazed how easily all the glitter spreads over the nail within the jelly base. It's very well suspended!
--

Here is Zoya- Harper:

Harper is a darker cotton candy-pink with golden shimmer.

Artificial light, two coats:

Window-filtered daylight:

Outside, shade:

Formula:The viscosity seems slightly thinner than the first two, but is still nice and on the thicker side, I think. Harper is also slightly less sheer than Alma or Jesy.
--

Next, Zoya- Binx:

Binx is a warm-toned, orchid purple with golden shimmer.

Artificial light, two coats:

Window-filtered daylight:

I just love this one. The golden shimmer really brings it to another level.

Outside, shade:

Formula: It is very similar to Alma in every way: more sheer than some of the others, and the viscosity is on the thicker side.  Applies wonderfully, two coats!
--

Here is Zoya- Stassi:

Stassi is a grassy, citron green with golden shimmer.  My bottle's label actually reads "Staasi," which I found funny, but I'm pretty sure the correct name is Stassi.

Artificial light, two coats:

Window-filtered daylight:

This is undoubtedly a gorgeous green glitter, but it's just not my personal aesthetic. I'm sure, for some, this will be the favorite of the collection, though!

Outside, shade:

Formula: It is the same opacity as Alma and Jesy (slightly sheerer) with a similar viscosity as well. Goes on smoothly like the others, two coats!
--

Last, Zoya- Muse:

Muse is described as a "blue raspberry," and it also contains golden shimmer, although there are also hints of green.

Artificial light, two coats:

Artificial light, 5500k daylight CFL bulb:

This one is gorgeous if you love blues or greeny-blues.  The color scheme is a lot like the famous Zoya- Charla, but the finishes of the polishes are obviously a lot different. Beautiful!

Outside, shade:

Formula: It has about the same viscosity as Alma, and the opacity level is similar to Harper's: slightly more opaque than others.
--

Overall, I am a huge fan of this collection! I love, love, love jellies, so the added holographic glitters and coordinating shimmer is pretty magical. The formulas were all outstanding, and I couldn't get over how smoothly these applied.  They practically apply themselves, in fact. (Because there is glitter, they are slightly difficult to remove, so you can use the foil method or a glue/ peel base.)

I think the color array is very Summery, and I will probably end up wearing all of them on my toes. All in all, I found the Bubbly collection be very innovative, and the execution was pretty much flawless! My favorites? I actually love them all (Stassi, just slightly less), but if I had to pick...probably Muse (shocker), Binx, and Jesy!

What do you think?

Which are your favorites from Bubbly?

Disclosure: these polishes were provided to me as press samples for honest review, and all opinions are my own.

I'm with you-- I'm totally stoked about this collection. Zoya certainly made up for Awaken with this set :) They're all just beautiful on you, too. My faves are the same as yours, but swapping out Jesy for Harper.

Believe it or not, I don't actually want the green one in this collection! I just want all the others...

Haha, thank you for the input! As a reader, I love seeing whole collections too, but it is a lot more work all at once.

Yea, I think I'm just not a mid-tone green person. Give me dark, foresty ones or limey chartreuse ones!

I love the Bubbly Collection!! My goal is to get it swatched today since I finished Tickled!! They remind me of champagne bubbles, hence the bubbly name I guess!! I LOVE Muse, it's so multidimensional and beautiful with Harper coming in at a close second.

Woah, these are definitely the best swatches of Bubbly that I've seen so far! Your capture of the iridescence is magical :D

These are the best swatches I've seen! I had no idea they had those medium iridescent glitters in them. They're a lot lovelier than I thought before.

Great swatches! I wasn't convinced to the collection as it seemed too sheer but now I hesitate ;) Great photo with the cat's coloured nails :D
