Nailstalgia: OPI- Elephantastic Pink [Swatch]

Welcome to the next installment of Nailstalgia! If you missed the first Nailstalgia post, check it out here.  Today, we'll be taking a look at an older OPI color!

I'm excited to announce that Caroline of Good Lack, Nail!, and Erin of Paint Those Piggies! will be joining in on the Nailstalgia fun! Today, we'll all be swatching the same polish, but next time, we'll be showcasing different polishes within the same color family/ category (older, classic shades, of course!). So, do check out their swatches as well!

I should also mention that new Nailstalgia posts will be now happening on the last Friday of every month, nail polish gods willing.

Now, here's  OPI- Elephantastic Pink:

Elephantastic Pink was released in Spring 2008 as part of the India collection.  It's a medium bubblegum pink creme that maybe? leans just a bit to the coral side.  I think some are calling this a carnation pink, and that seems accurate.

Artificial light, three coats:

You can see that I swatched this quite a while ago, when my nails were more squared off than I'm currently wearing them. Ahhhh, continuity!

Window-filtered daylight:

It dries a tiny bit darker than the liquid bottle color...but the difference is imperceptible in photos.  Elephantastic Pink is a girly shade, but I loved wearing it, especially since it's a little coral-leaning. I think this color was actually my gateway to actually liking pink nails on myself!

Outside, shade:

Formula:  The consistency is on the medium- thin side, and it is quite sheer.  The texture is somewhere between an creme and a jelly; it goes on the nail smoothly, and self-levels well. I needed three coats in order for the nail line not to be intrusive, but I do think my nail line is darker than most for whatever reason (maybe because the nailbeds are short?).

All in all, this is a wonderful, classic pink to have in your arsenal!

Its a pretty classic pink. Not the most unique shade but its great to have it as a staple pink in your collection :)
