Indigo Bananas- Perfect Night (for Mystery & Horror) [Swatch]

Today I'm going to share Indigo Bananas- Perfect Night (for Mystery & Horror).

This is slightly unprecedented, since I am showing you the swatch before the mail-time for this set of polishes! I think I've only done that once before (with this Emily de Molly)! But, when I saw this in person, I didn't want any delay in showing it because it's stunning! (And, presenting multiple polishes at once, instead of just one, definitely takes more time for me, since I hardly ever have a whole day I can set aside to swatch!)

Perfect Night (for Mystery & Horror) was just released as part of the 2014 Halloween collection, which consists of twelve polishes total! If I'm not mistaken, this release is Frankenstein-themed!

Perfect Night is warm, royal purple jelly base filled with aqua-indigo colorshifting flakies as well as, what appears to be, really beautiful red microshimmer.

Artificial light, three/ four coats:

Window-filtered daylight:

Outside, shade:

Sun:

Indigo Bananas says the microshimmer "...sparkles blue, red, violet, silver at the same time,"and in the sun you can see that! Most other times, the shimmer looks mostly red to me...but it's so perfect for Halloween!

Formula: The jelly base is quite sheer, but goes on very smoothly. I have three coats on the index, middle, and thumb nails, and four coats on the ring and pinkie nails. I had some VNL after three coats, but it's not intrusive (IMO). However, I did want to see how much the base would deepen after another layer, so I tried four. Can you tell the difference? In the end, I do appreciate that this is a bit sheer because when it's fully built up, it still looks purple all the time, never black.

Overall, if you're prepared to do three-ish easy coats (you should be, so worth it), it's very nice!

I have three more polishes from this awesome collection, and I'm going to try my very best to show them all (at the very least you'll see them in the mail-time), but I am slightly swamped at the moment. I have two partial seasonal collections to show (Orly & China Glaze, Fall) as well as Zoya's Entice and MatteVelvet re-issue, AND a bunch of miscellaneous single swatches. Basically, the swatches are a bit backlogged at the moment, but that's life!

Indigo Bananas 2014 Halloween collection available here.

I'd love to know what you think!

There's something about a red-based purple that flips my skirt (if I was wearing one!). The flakes are a bonus. Beautiful!

Looks lovely on you! And don't worry about a back-log or "must swatch this" - your presentation of polishes is super special, and I'll always come back to check your swatches :D

Me too! I'm really all about color-shifting flakies lately.
