Morgan Taylor- Under the Stars [Swatch]

Hi everyone! For the first swatch of the new year, I have a really fun, sparkly polish to show you: Morgan Taylor- Under the Stars!

Morgan Taylor is still a relatively new brand to me, and the five I own I purchased from Amazon. Although I'm not into gel polish, the company also makes Gelish, so it's fun to see a line of regular (3-free) lacquers from them!

Under the Stars is a mix of small, very light-catching, holographic glitters in a deep navy crelly base.  The tone of the navy base is more cyan-leaning than indigo-leaning, although it seems to vary depending on the lighting.

Artificial light, two coats:

The camera just doesn't capture all of the rainbow sparkly goodness, so I did an out of focus shot that might give you more of an idea:

Window-filtered daylight:

This type of blue base can look nearly black, as you can see, but most of the time those sparkly glitters light up the polish making it obviously deep blue.

Outside, shade:

Formula: The base carries the glitter pieces well, and applies nicely to the nail. If you underload the brush, you can get some thinner areas on the first coat, but mostly it self-levels wonderfully. Although the base's texture is jellyish, it's still really pigmented, and I only needed two coats for opacity. This does dry down to a grittier finish, so you do need top coat for smoothness and to bring out the glitter. I used one coat of American Classics- Gelous with one coat of INM- Out the Door.

What do you think of this dark, glittery navy?

Wow! Very indie inspired polish. :) I haven't gotten the chance to try any polish from this brand yet.

This is gorgeous! Would make the perfect base for a galaxy themed manicure too.

I want to drown in this polish. It's okay if I die. It's worth it. Freakin' amazing.

Yea, the right lighting definitely helps it, but I thought it was beautiful. I bet it's great as an accent nail/s too.

I actually got this beauty during the holiday season myself and I LOVE.IT. Even my husband was impressed with it. It's so unusual to find something like this from outside the "indie" polish community so I was pleasantly surprised. I had no idea you could get MT polishes from Amazon - and for cheaper than from where I got them at the time, even during a promo sale, LoxaBeauty.com. Thanks for sharing this with us! XOXOXO
