I have a few partial seasonal collections to swatch (and honestly that can be a bit daunting at times), but before we submerge fully into Fall on this side of the globe, I thought I'd throw in a last, bright Summery swatch!
Behold: Illamasqua- Collide:
Collide is a neon, medium pink jelly. Like a lot of neons, it dries to a satiny (not matte) finish, but that's nothing that some topcoat can't fix.
Now that I think about it, Collide is what I was hoping the China Glaze Sunsational neon jellies were going to be (at least texture-wise)!
Artificial light, three coats:
I will apologize for the mild case of sheet marks I've got going on here. This was a last minute manicure at 1:30AM, and I didn't even give my quick dry topcoat (Revlon) a moment to set. Hopefully it's not too distracting.
Window-filtered daylight:
Collide dries a little bit warmer in tone than bottle color- which in this case, for some reason, I really like. I just think the final color is so happy and pretty. Definitely looks more coral-hot-pink in some lights, and more of a neon Barbie pink in other lights.
Outside, shade:
Like most true neons, Collide completely overwhelms the camera's sensor- especially in the above shade photos. It's really, really a bright value in reality, and the camera has trouble interpreting that.
Sun:
Formula: Very forgiving for a neon, self-levelling instantly- it's buttery, even! Two coats didn't quite obscure visible nail line, but it's wearable since it's a jelly, and many people probably won't bother with the third coat like I did. It's hard to tell in photos, but even with a third coat there is VNL in strong direct light (which didn't bother me).
This was such a fun polish to apply; it just gliiiiides over the nail surface.
Is anyone else still wearing neons this time of year?!
I have this puppy on my wishlist!!! I am waiting for Liesl (Liesl Loves Pretty Things) to trade with me. I offered her BL Pitter Patter and I'm hoping she bites :) It's beautiful!
