With all of the heart-filled Valentines Day manicures floating around right now, I thought I'd give your retinas a slight reprieve from the pink/ white/ purple! I do have a V-day nail design I'm excited to share, but you'll have to wait until tomorrow!
Anyway, here is a polish from an Australian indie brand: Emily de Molly- Oceanic Forces.

Oceanic Forces is a saturated, deep teal jelly base containing holographic hex glitter that flashes blue-green, as well as large holographic circle glitter that also flashes blue-green.
Artificial light, two coats:

Window-filtered daylight:

If it looks like the big circle glitters are curling, they're not! It's just a phenomenon called "reflective curling"- Elevation Polish gives a good explanation about it here.
Outside, shade:

Well, suffice it to say, I really loved this one! I took about a billion photos of it, and still think it's so much prettier in person when you can see the holo glitter flashing with movement.
Up close:

Formula: The texture is almost butter, jellyish. The base deepens considerably after two coats, and that's all I needed for opacity on most nails! If you want a lot of the large circle glitter, you may have to fish a bit, but once in a while I did get one on the brush "naturally." I did let the bottle sit upside down for a couple of hours prior to application, though. I used two coats of NYC- In A New York Minute to smooth out the glitter.
Such a nice formula for a jelly/ glitter; if this is what all Emily de Mollys are like, then I need to move to Australia!

ReplyVery beautiful, this is one of my favorite polishes and you captured it perfectly! <3
ReplyIf only I could find that jelly base without the glitter. *sigh*
ReplyEvery time I see swatches of this polish, I love it more. My sister threatened to steal my bottle after I painted her nails with it and I was like LOL NO.
ReplyHaha! Yea, I think this one's definitely a crowd-pleaser. :)
ReplyYou know, I think Zoya's Frida might be close (https://polish-hound.com/2012/08/nail-art-syrup-nails-with-zoya-frida.html), maybe just a touch greener?
ReplyThanks! Now I have to hunt down Cosmic Forces to go with it!
ReplyThanlk You! The polish made it easy...
ReplyHaha! It's totally worth lemming!
ReplyThanks for the suggestion, I'll look into it!
