ILNP Ultra Holos for Summer 2015 Pt.1 [Swatch] & [Review]

Hey everyone! Today, I'm super [mega] excited to bring you the first installment (part 1 of 2) of the ILNP Ultra Holo collection for Summer 2015!

There are ten new Ultra Holos total- in a rainbow of bright, Summery shades- and today I'll be showing you five!

L to R: Float On, Harbor Island, Ten Fold, 1Up, I See You

Let's get started!

First, here is the most neutral, ILNP- I See You:

I See You is a neutral, champagne-colored Ultra Holo.

The name cracks me up because it's a little creepy. But maybe it's a reference to when you're meeting someone somewhere and you're on your cell phone, and you finally see them?! I don't know!

I actually really love this one, and wore it for three or four days on my non-swatching hand! Since I swatch so many colors, this was just a neutral palate cleanser. And, let's face it- my hands never match! I usually have something totally different than what I'm currently swatching on ol' righty (so having something neutral there hopefully makes me look less crazy!)

Formula: It's a little sheer, but goes on just effortlessly. These are very easy to control, and apply smoothly with no issues like pulling or dragging. I didn't even do any cuticle clean-up on these swatches because the viscosity makes it so that you really can get polish right where you want it!  Opaque in three coats!

Next, ILNP- 1Up:

1up (name is bringing back SMB childhood memories!) is a medium, yellow-toned, grassy green Ultra Holo.

Artificial light, three coats:

I wasn't excited about this one in particular at first, but it really grew on me, and wasn't really too difficult to pull off in terms of warm-toned greens on cool skin.

Formula: It's extremely similar to I See You in terms of opacity level, and the texture is the same easy workable one as the others! Opaque in three coats (nearly opaque in two, and people with short nails will be fine without the third)!
--

Here is the other green, ILNP- Ten Fold:

Ten Fold is a cool-toned, blue-leaning green Ultra Holo.  I really love this tone of green!

Artificial light, three coats:

Love this one a lot!

If you hadn't noticed by now, the holo in these Ultra Holos is pretty sweet! It's very apparent in indoor lighting, and the actual holo shimmer particles are on the larger side (of what I've experienced in holographic polishes).

Formula: It seems minutely sheerer than 1Up, but will still build to full coverage in three coats. These do dry down quickly, so three coats isn't a hassle. Plus, they are so nicely self-leveling and non-finicky.

Next, the teal, ILNP- Harbor Island:

Harbor Island* is a rich, jewel-toned teal Ultra Holo.

Artificial light, three coats:

Super stunning color!

Formula: This is the sheerest Ultra Holo- almost like the base is a little more jellyish than the others. However, it still applies wonderfully, and is easy to control. It's not 100% opaque at three coats on me, but the sparkle is so intense that the nail line is very well obscured in person. And, the jellyish quality to the base gives the overall finish really intense pigmentation, and really showcases the holo particles!

Finally, the pretty blue, ILNP- Float On:

Float On is a gorgeous, cerulean blue Ultra Holo. It's what I think of as "sky blue," but I also think it's ever-so-slightly green-leaning. You can also see it worn here with Mega (X).

Artificial light, three coats:

Outside, sun:

^My sunlight was fading at that point in the day- I think it was like 6:30 PM, LOL!

Up close:

This is an awesome shade of blue, and I'm not sure my photos do it justice, actually. It's one of my faves!

Formula: It has the same consistency/ pigmentation as 1Up. Slightly sheer, but buildable, and very easy to control, gliding on easily. The second coat clings so nicely to the first and feels buttery- it's nearly opaque, and if I weren't doing photos, I'd leave it at two coats. But, I thought I'd do three coats to keep everything consistent.
--

Overall, I can't say that there's a bad polish here! I'm very pleased with the color selection, and they were a pleasure to apply. All five of these required three coats on me for opacity, but a couple (1Up & Float On) were so, so close that I almost stopped at two. I think people who aren't taking photos won't need three coats for those polishes. Harbor Island was definitely sheerer than the rest, but could always be layered over a teal. (And I'll take three easy, self-leveling coats over two gooey/chalky/whatever coats any day- especially with the nice dry-down times!) I love these- they are really, really stunning in person!

Available for pre-order this Friday, June 12th | $9 | ilnp.com

*A note:  It came to my attention late last night that Harbor Island is actually part of the Summer collection and not the Ultra Holos! When I looked at the bottles and swatch stick swatches, it never crossed my mind it wasn't an Ultra Holo because it is that holographic! Oops! Apologies for any confusion! (I actually have it switched in my swatches with Paper Route, which is an Ultra Holo, but I thought was part of the Summer set. Incidentally, that was one of the swatches that got lost when I accidentally reformatted an SD card yesterday, so I'm hoping for another sunny day to get it swatched again!)

Which of these is your favorite?
Stay tuned for Pt. 2 and the other 5 Ultra Holos!

*Disclosure: polishes in this post were provided to me as press samples for honest review, and all opinions are my own.

Once again, you are killing it with these ILNP posts! I have to say a HUGE thank you for the brush macros, I think I finally get what these polishes look like and it is all because of seeing it on the brush. Amazing. Still wanting Harbor Island most, even though it is the sheerest!

They are all so beautiful! Usually I don't like green polishes, but your swatches made me love them. That's how your pictures are pretty!

Yes! Thank you!! I think it is easier to see the micro flakes on the brush for some reason...they blend into the blingy-ness on the nail! I think Harbor Island is meant to be sheer for layering, so lots of fun stuff could happen with that one!
