Nail Art: Tracy Reese NYFW Inspired V-Shaped Taping Design

I have been dying to recreate a design I saw during New York Fashion Week, which was a collaboration between Sally Hansen and designer Tracy Reese.  Like so.

I also have been dying to try out Nubar- Knight's Armor, a recent acquisition.  So, some nail art was born.

The purple is Misa- Breakaway, and the black/silver glitter is Nubar- Knight's Armor, one coat.

I used tape to get this effect, although it probably could be done without guides if you have a super steady hand and don't mind cleaning up cuticles.

The easiest way is probably to snip a triangular cut-out from a normal piece of Scotch tape, but I actually just cut tiny triangles since I wanted the V-shape to be purple (already on nails) and not the other way around.

I probably could have used two coats of the Nubar- Knight's Armor, as you can see below on the middle finger nail, but I didn't want there to be a thickness issue, so I stuck with one.

I have to say I felt totally fancy wearing this!

Thanks! Next time I might try making the triangles wider.

Okay, just realized that it might not be a two toned triangle, it's the lighting? Regardless, I really like this!!

Yea, it's the lighting. That would be crazy if it were two-tone, haha! Thanks!

Love the deep V, makes your nails look longer. Also, I love the color combo you chose!

Thanks, that is what I was going for! Those V-gap manis do the same thing, I think.
