Here is Revlon- Celestial FX, a new (I think?) Top Speed polish.

Celestial FX is a clear base filled with chunky holographic glitter in three shapes: moons, stars, and diamonds. It also has much smaller, multi-colored hex glitter in blue, green, aqua-ish, and orange- that give the bigger glitter shapes a nice context.
(It cracks me up that this is part of the Top Speed line; of course, plain glitter in a suspension base is going to dry rather quickly!)
All swatches are shown layered over China Glaze- Bermuda Breakaway.
Artificial light:

Layered over that particular type of blue, it really reminds me of a wizard's hat. I loved wearing this, but it didn't last too long, because I used a peel-off base coat.

I found it really difficult getting the holographic rainbow-ness of the large glitter shapes to show up. The camera strobe washes them out, and you really need movement to get the full effect.
This polish flashes intense rainbows in real life. Mmmm.
Closer:

Formula: I had to fish for the different glitters a little, and dab them on. Even so, I still didn't achieve the best placement, I don't think. The suspension base is rather thick, and all the fishing around and dabbing left me with a lot of bubbles, as you can probably see. Maybe I will get better with practice?
I do know that my right hand actually turned out better than my left [swatching] hand. I put fewer glitters on each nail, and I think a litter sparser looks nicer.

I'm pleased that Revlon is creating interesting glitter mixes lately. Drugstore glitters, FTW! This particular one is great to have- an essential layering polish, I think!
I don't care so much for moons and stars on my own nails, but I do think this looks cute on you :)
ReplyAw, thanks. Yea, it's a little silly for everyday, but it was fun!
Oooooooooooh!!! I'm going to the store to look for this NOW!!!
ReplyDid you find it???
That's really pretty! I'm never sure about chunky glitters when I get them on my own nails but I might have to try that one!
ReplyYou know, me neither, and I don't wear them often but I liked this one!
Do the star points stick out in this Revlon? I have a similar polish by Kleancolor and the stars are almost impossible to wear for this reason, no matter how many coats of top coat I use.
ReplyThey laid pretty flat for me! I think they are just small enough to lay flat on the surface of the nail. I used INM-Out The Door with these swatches, and it's not the thickest topcoat ever, so I didn't have a problem.
