Essie- Style Hunter is from the Spring 2014 Hide & Go Chic collection. I have two of the blues from the collection also, and you can see a gradient with them here.

Style Hunter is a very cool-toned, saturated red creme/crelly. There is a lot of pink/ magenta in this red- that's why I bought it! Some people might call it a crimson.
Artificial light, two coats:

Window-filtered daylight:

Style Hunter photographs a bit lighter than it looks to the naked eye, but the above window-lit photos are pretty accurate.
Outside, shade:

It does dry slightly darker than the bottle color, which I find to be fairly common with Essie. On a positive note, it dries to a super glossy finish, although like the vast majority of my swatches, this is shown with top coat (to expedite the drying process).
Formula: It is very pigmented, but the texture is like a jelly. It goes on pretty smoothly, but might drag if you under-load the brush, especially at the cuticle/ top of nail. Just about opaque in two coats, though, and buttery smooth! This has got to be my favorite Essie formula I've tried in quite a while. I was on the fence about this polish, but now totally do not regret my decision to hoard it!
Do you guys like this red?
Have you tried any other colors from Hide & Go Chic?
Pretty! I would definitely say crimson is an accurate description of the color. I haven't bought a new Essie in a while, so I may need to grab this and a few more. :)
ReplyThis is a pretty color for the season. Very vibrant and fun to wear on the nails.
ReplyWow, beautiful color and looks amazing on you! Sadly I can't get Essie anymore in my country, and even when we did, we never got the new collections like these :(
ReplyThat's delicious!
