Mail-time: Random Nyx Goodies!

Here's a quick mail-time that is actually from last...November? I think?  Sometimes, I get so behind on the snail mail posts, I admit! But, the good news is that, by now, I've used many of these products so I can share some of my thoughts.

What did you find, Ham?

A Nyx cosmetics box!

Inside:

Everything usually comes bundled in these neat black lace bags:

I got a lot of random stuff!

These makeup sponges were thrown in as a free gift:

I'm not sure what I'll use them for since I don't wear liquid foundation, and the texture seems too coarse for nail art..

The real reason I placed this Nyx order:

This is their Eyebrow cake powder in 'Auburn.'  I recently reviewed it in the last Empties post.  This one seems different from the previous one I finished, though.  It's chalkier, with more fallout- bummer!  Now I have to go on the hunt for a brow powder in that dark red-brown color!

A new product in the Nyx range:

This is their new Butter Lip Balm in 'Ladyfingers.'  This is actually very pigmented for a balm, yet feels like a balm. I've been wearing it a lot, and I'm not a huge lip color person. Love!

I have quick swatches of everything but the nail polishes at the end of this post, by the way!

Another new product fro Nyx:

This is one of their cream eyeshadows in the color 'Oolong Tea.'  These cream shadows basically have horrible reviews all over the internet, but this color is so beautiful that I had to see if I could make it work!

The problem with these is that you can't build them up until the first layer completely dries.  They also don't do well worn in the crease- even with primer.  But, the way I've been able to wear it is just over the bottom portion of the lid, under the crease, using similar colors to fake the blended out look into the crease. This shade is so metallic and gorgeous, that for me, it warrants the extra care!

One of their Glam Aqua-Luxe Liquid Liners in 'Glam Azure:'

A Slide-On Eye Pencil in 'Golden Bronze:'

Two blushes and a single eyeshadow:

Nyx Blush in 'Terra Cotta,' 'Summer Peach,' and a single eyeshadow in 'Copper.'

Can you tell I was in a very coppery, bronzey mood when I placed this order?

Three, probably boring?, polishes:

left to right: Nyx- Souffle, Nyx- New York, Nyx- Delectable

As promised, some quick, back-of-the-hand swatches:

I know that Terra Cotta blush looks super scary, but I am absolutely in love and have been wearing it almost every day.  It's sheer and blends out nicely, and is not too shimmery on the face.  I use it as a combo blush/ bronzer on the upper cheekbones/ outer eye orbital area.

I love the Slide On Eye Pencil in 'Golden Bronze' too! It is just as creamy and long-lasting as the Urban Decay 24/7 pencils, which I think Nyx is actually trying to dupe with that line. I'm thinking I might pick up more of those!

And, finally, I don't know if you can tell from the swatches, but can you see the fallout from the eyebrow cake powder?  It's not as pigmented as before and when you try to build it up, it sometimes crumbles up the previous layer beneath it, which I don't remember happening with my first go-round with this product! I am disappoint!

Overall though, I love most of these products, although I haven't tried the polishes yet.

Do you guys have any favorite Nyx products?

That Slide On Eye Pencil is calling my name... and I've been wanting to try the butter balms. I think a visit to Ulta is in my near future. haha
