Hey everyone! Merry Christmas, and if you don't happen to celebrate that- Happy Holidays!
I've been wanting to try ugly Christmas sweater nails for a while now, since they are definitely my favorite holiday nail art. But, I found out last night that I really don't have the stamping images to make a good go of it! So, I channeled my inability to stamp straight lines, and created this design which reminds me of wrapping paper.

I used Zoya- Purity to stamp, and while that polish works, I don't think it's the best white for stamping since it's not as opaque as it could be, and seems to dry too quickly for me on the plate. Do you guys have a favorite white to stamp with? Maybe sometime I'll pick up the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri white, which is supposed to be good.
The stamp is from Bundle Monster BM-416 from the "Create Your Own" set, reviewed here. It reminds me of poinsettias. Is that what it's supposed to be?
Polishes:

left to right: Orly- Rock-It, Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure- All Fired Up, Zoya- Purity
I started with a base coat of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure- All Fired Up, which is a beautiful warm, cherry red jelly polish (three coats). Then, I just sponged that and Orly- Rock-It (beautiful duochromey glassfleck) to make a simple gradient. I've never tried to mix those two finishes before while sponging and blending a gradient, but they actually worked really well, which I suspect has more to do with the jelly polish than the glassfleck.

I love the way these look in person too. They're pretty simple, but also festive and not too overly cute, which I like!
Enjoy your holiday celebrations and traditions!
Love the different placement on the stamping here. So pretty. Merry Christmas to you!
ReplyLove this! Not going to lie, I know I have paper that matches this.
