Today I've got half of Misa's new collection for Winter 2014, called Frosty Nights! There are six metallic polishes in the collection, total, but I've chosen my favorite three to share!
First, here's the darkest of the three, Misa- Cricket Symphony:

Cricket Sympony is a deep greyed or silvered olive green metallic.
Artificial light, two coats:

I liked this much more on my nails than on a swatch stick- a nice surprise! Really, a beautiful olive.
Window-filtered daylight:

Outside, shade:

Sun:

Formula: Perfect. The consistency is thick and luxurious, but spreads effortlessly over the nail and is very forgiving and workable. Buttery! To top it off, it's opaque in one coat if you load the brush properly! I used two layers for swatching (probably overkill), but I'd only use one if I weren't photographing it!

Next, here is Misa- The Night is Blue:

The Night is Blue is a teal-leaning blue metallic shimmer. A jewel tone!
Artificial light, two coats:

Window-filtered daylight:

Outside, shade:

I couldn't get a sun shot of this one, unfortunately, but I imagine it's just as sparkly and pretty as the other two.
Formula: It has a similar viscosity, thickness-wise, to Cricket Symphony, but is a tad stickier. Still, it goes on the nail super smoothly, is pigmented, and dries down quickly. Opaque in two coats!
--
Last, here is Misa- Blue Yonder:

Blue Yonder is purple-leaning, blue metallic with a lot of silver shimmer.
Artificial light, two coats:

Pretty, and this kind of blue actually does scream "Holiday" to me!
Window-filtered daylight:

Outside, shade:

Sun:

Formula: It is sheerer than Cricket Symphony and The Night is Blue, but still applies smoothly and dries down quickly. The viscosity is a little thinner too, but still nice and not too thin. Nicely opaque in two medium coats!
Overall, if these three polishes are any indication of the rest of the collection, I'm impressed! The colors are interesting, the finish is lovely in person- metallic, by not brushstrokey, and with shimmer that is never hidden. There is really nothing bad to say about the formulas, either. Love these!

The Night is Blue is my favorite, what a gorgeous color!
ReplyNice swatches of these Misa colors. I'm really liking the look of the two blues here.
ReplyDefinitely love Cricket Symphony. I'm a sucker for olives so this really stuck out. Looks like I'll be grabbing that one. :)
ReplyI think I need the first two! Misa is certainly one of those sleeper brands (I only own a few unlike Zoya) that I seem to forget about, then I'll pull a bottle out randomly and go "where have you been all my life!?" :) I get great wear out of them and the ones I have all seem to apply really well.
ReplyTotally a sleeper brand, but I have loved almost everything I have from them. It's frustrating because the newer collections take a long time to trickle down to etailers like nailsupplies.us, and I am not totally in the habit of paying full price for most polish....although Misa is probably one of the ones worth the price tag. ;)
ReplyI love olives too! I really enjoyed wearing that one.
ReplyThanks, and me too! I like Blue Yonder more in photos, but The Night is Blue is more the type of blue I like wearing on my nails.
ReplySo true! Wore that one for three days- worth it! :)
ReplyOh, you should! They are one of my very favorite commercial brands!
ReplyThe Night is Blue is my favorite of the three. :) Stunning photos as always.
ReplyI think that's a lot of people's favorite now!
